How can I convert Linux Box as a Router, Is there any configuration required?

I wanted to convert my linux box as a Router, How can I configure?. I
have two LAN cards installed, one is to connect to uplink (DSL) and
second one to my 8-port switch/hub. What are the steps involved to
make it work?. Appreciated for some links.
