On my FC3 laptop, the Intel drivers were in the kernel after an update.
I installed the firmware and had to try twice to get the drivers to see
the card. After a second try, I took a look at dmesg and it found the
intel card correctly. If you are using a WEP key, you may need to preceed
the actual key with a 0x in the string. That works for me everytime.
Be sure you have the firmware loaded. There is an rpm for the firmware as
well.
After a few little tests of modprobing the ipw2200, all the encryption
modules load and I can do a dhclient eth1 and get an IP address from my
dhcp server. Note that i am using a WRT54G with WEP authentication here.
