You can connect to home if you're using XP Pro ia remote desktop. You have to
install the client software on the client PC (work) and activate some
settings in XP.

As for the firewall, I would hope it has settings that will alow incoming
traffic for Remote Desktop by enabling port 3389, I believe. I usea router
(D-Link) and have no problems at all with connectivity. There's also a ton of
posts in these newsgroups for Remote Desktop should you have problems.
