Hi group. Bought a zoom x5 router yesterday and had a lot of fun wiring the
kids computers to it. Then came the fun bit. I tried to access the modem
with my tiscali account and nothing.:-( Not a sausage. Computer could not
find the modem. Been through the book. Have pinged the ip address and it
responded. It doesnt show in any hardware configuration in the system panel.
Its like internet explorer doesnt know what to do with the command. The
computer cant seem to find it. Am I missing something. Oh by the way I'm on
windows xp.

Any help would be great. Thanks

how is it connected. Have you put the IP address of it (that you
pinged) into the browser to access the setup page ?

you need to tell IE "never dial a connection" so it will access it
over the LAN, if you're using the ethernet port to connect to it.

You simply need to set your computers so that they connect over the lan and
to not dial up a connection, and simply put the 10.0.0.2 (assuming its the
same as my old X4) gateway address in to the browser and then enter the user
name admin and password zoomadsl and then enter the adsl setup details and
then make sure you change the default password.
