I need to administer my workgroup but I do not have a domain controller. Is
there any way for me to accomplish this?

My main issue for doing this, is because I attempting to restore a tape
backup to a different location and windows is complaining the I don't have
sufficient rights.

Thanks

There is no central management available with Workgroups. Workgroups are
just an organizational/cosmetic device for computers on a peer-to-peer
network. The only way to have central management is with a domain and a
domain controller running a real server operating system.

If you post back with a better description of your problem, including
the operating systems involved (and service pack levels if
NT/Win2k/XP), the type of tape backup, from where and to where you were
backing up, etc. then perhaps someone can give you a workaround and/or
solution.

Administration is one of the problems with peer to peer networking. As a
general rule of thumb on computers with shared resources you need to create
accounts that are identical (same user name, same password) as those that
exist on the computers that will be accessing the resources. As Malke said
post back with more details about what OS is on each computer and what you
are trying to do.
