calling house from computer

I have been having problems with my phone line and I was
wondering if i can call my house from my computer? I have
cable internet. My email address is

Can you use your phone when the computer is online? If so yes search for a
computer to fax service as I am not sure if you can get free voice calls.
You then send youself a fax.
