Hi... I'm a network newbie...

I have an office situation with three computer areas in
a building. My modem can't be moved to a central area.
Would I use switches such that:

Modem ... Router ... Switch ... Switch

TIA

Oh and the cable length question is, can the total cable
length from Router to Switch #1 be 100 meters and the
cable length from Switch #1 to Switch #2 be 100 meters?

That is is the 100 meters limited between "hubs"?

100 meters between switches and routers, and it doesn't "add" (unlike
unswitched hubs).

So, yes, if you keep inserting switches you can keep gaining another 100
meters...
