I am thinking of Bulldog PAYG for broadband.
Has anyone any experience of this ?

Sorry, no, but it looks extremely useful for anyone wanting a "backup"
connection in case their primary ISP is down. Of course one would be
needing to ensure it worked, from time to time (and a few minutes on
each dat would seem ideal as a way to check... an electronic timer to
enable for 2 minutes a day won't "break the bank" - 50-60p a month,
and a low line rental to boot!)
