Just had a knock at the door from some chap trying to offer 8mb Bulldog BB!

Having told him that I was happy with Zen 2mb, Bulldogs customer service was
abysmal and my local exchange was not currently able to provide 'full' 8mb
broadband, he said 'fair enough' and just walked away! Didn't even give me
the chance to have a decent moan/argument about the fact he'd cold called!
BASTARD! ;o)

(".)

I think they are offering a big commission for new customers to call
centres. Hence the phone sales ect and the over subscribing

Wrong!!!

spam [spam]
noun (plural spams)
irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number
of users. OED

I wouldn't call 2 warnings spam, I'd call it a public service, ask anyone of
the hundreds of complainants with the bulldog service, just take heed and
make your own mind up if you want to run the risk!

2 identical postings in 2 minutes looked like the start of an
avalanche.

like I said, it looked like the start of a problem. 2 messages aren't
a problem, but if the response to every Bulldog thread was an
identical posting then it would cross the line.

if you want to understand usenet spam go read
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsgroup_spam and many other sites.

"Usenet convention defines spamming as excessive multiple posting,
that is, the repeated posting of a message (or substantially similar
messages)"
