I was with Bulldog until around June this year when I moved to Plusnet
[awaits "Fryingpan -> fire" comments]
Anyway, I had a billing email from BD today kindly informing me they
will relieve my credit card of around £22 in a few days time. I've
emailed them telling them I'll consider it theft and report it to the
police if they try. I also tried to call them but, after several
attempts (and being cut off after holding for 15 minutes) I've given
up. Now I remember why I left them :-o

Try not to give firms like this continuing credit card authorities, as you
can't countermand them (unlike direct debit).

Some years ago I wait to move to BT Anytime (paid separately) from BT
Surftime (paid with phone bill) because they wouldn't do DD only CCCA. The
first two month's bills for their "fixed price" £15.99p per month service
were £193 and £29 - and took a lot of sorting out.

I can't actually remember if it was a debit or credit card, but I'll
look it up when I get home. I've just received a (presumably automated)
email saying "ooh, were' so busy, but we'll look into your query when
we get around to that sort of thing", or words to that effect. I'll
give them a couple of days and then try again. I'll also be watching by
CC and Switch balances like a hawk.

It makes no odds in terms of being able to stop it, whether credit
card or debit card it's still a CCCA which only the company taking the
money can stop.

Let your credit card company know, and tell them to refuse Bulldog any
payment, or you'll claim the money of the credit card company - which is
legit. They legally have to abide by that order.

Then write a long and hard letter to Bulldog, threatening legal action,
giving them 14 days to respond and send it recorded.

Don't you think you might get better service if you just politely
explained the problem and asked for a resolution instead of being
aggressive and unpleasant about it?

Just a thought like.

Pooter, normally, yes. However, when I was with Bulldog, they never
responded to any correspondence, no matter how it was worded or sent.
My email to them was not rude, just firm. How would you react if
someone contacted you stating they were about to take money from you
that was not owed?

Mistakes happen, no excuse, but they happen, and I had the same sort of
thing a few years back when I left Freeserve. Yes, it pissed me off but
I put myself in the shoes of the person I need to get on my side to sort
it out and was therefore polite and it got sorted.

Everytime BD charge your credit card, put the payment into dispute.
So long as you can prove you cancelled back in June, they'll lose every
dispute case - and get charged the "admin" fee.

;o)

Check reviews before using Bulldog, they are a terrible ISP.

It took 3 weeks to connect, worked for 2 weeks, then broke, I've now
been without a phone for 3 weeks Bulldog have done nothing about this,
they have failed to call me back every time they have said they would
(7 times). They have given 3 dates that it would be fixed (which it
never was). Im even having trouble cancelling....

In short NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT - AND A POOR PRODUCT - I WILL
NEVER USE THEM AGAIN
