building a repeater from AP's

I am attempting to repeat a signal from a Cisco 350 bridge up to an Orinoco
AP-500 and out another AP-500. I understand, conceptually, how this should
work but need help on the nuts and bolts. The AP's should be connected via
the ethernet ports? in order to repeat traffic to/from each other. The AP's
should each use frequencies 5 channels apart since they are so close? What
other parameters do I need to establish?
I have heard of this methodology for creating repeaters but have found
little explicit help. If anyone knows where I could find some specific
help, please let me know.

Thanks,
Todd

Can't answer about the brands listed, but I know about another brand I
got to work just fine. The first AP at the repeater site was in
client-bridge mode, the second was in AP mode. I have them connnected
together to a hub in the radio shack, but hooking them directly together
should be about the same thing (might have to use a crossover or a
converter). Yes, five channel separation would be good, it would also be
good to have some physical separtion from the incoming and outgoing
antennas. I gave my incoming (backhaul) antenna 10 feet lower than the
access point antenna vertically. Also made the backhaul horizontal
polarization, the AP vertical. Not had any problems yet.

The AP-500 is neither a bridge nor a client device, so it is unlikely
it will associate with your Cisco bridge. Replace one of the AP-500s
in your plan with a client bridge, such as a Linksys WET11, and the
rest sounds workable.
