Microwaves will go through ordinary windows without much problems.
You should place the antenna actually in the window, in sight of the other
antenna, if you can.
50m will tend to slow a connection based on standard routers/antennas,
especially if there is more stuff in the way than just air.
At worst, I suspect you'r looking at fitting new antennas if it doesn't
work.
Not very expensive if you pick kit that you can do this with.
