Building interconnect with 11g question

Hello,

I want to interconnect two buildings that are about 50m away from each
other, with an ovislink solution (cable router and an AP), using the
11g technology.
Since the cable router in building A will be put in a room in the back
of the building (relative to building B), can anyone tell me if I may
need another antenna to gain more power or will a standard solution
work?

I ask this because I can't find any pratical examples of this or any
technical description that shows the range of these devices.

Thank you in advance.
Paulo

You will probably need exterior antennas (or antennas that can see each other
through a window) for a reliable, full speed link...

"low emissivity" windows that are common in commercial buildings may not
transmit microwaves very well.

Do you think that even if the buildings are residential ones (this is
the case) that the standard equipment wont make it through the gap?

Microwaves will go through ordinary windows without much problems.
You should place the antenna actually in the window, in sight of the other
antenna, if you can.
50m will tend to slow a connection based on standard routers/antennas,
especially if there is more stuff in the way than just air.
At worst, I suspect you'r looking at fitting new antennas if it doesn't
work.
Not very expensive if you pick kit that you can do this with.
