Hi,

We have a number of PC's that have a number Win 98SE, DS client and full
update to latest patches that will not allow the user to change their
password when it is due to expire.

When to do try they get the following

"Unable to change password for Microsoft Networking because of the following
Error:

The computer name specified in the network path cannot be located"

The strange thing is it doesn't effect all Win 98SE PC's only a few
scattered about the offices. There can be two Win 98 PC's in the same room,
identical, one will work fine the other will not. The fault doesn't follow
the user it remains with the PC.

Looked everywhere for some ideas on what it can be but no joy. Any one
encountered the same problem? Any ideas?

What sort of connectivity do you use; wireless, router (patch cables) or
direct crossover cables? Also, what version of Windows Server System do you
use? Using 2003 Server and 98SE can be a bit of a problem sometimes.

The connectivity isn't an issue. Switches and Patch cables basically. W2k3
server standard.
