Anybody know what the standard ADSL modem is that is supplied by BTYahoo
these days ?

I think it's a Speedtouch 330 USB modem

BTYahoo aren't BTOpenworld rebranded are they? (sorry, been out of the UK
for a while).

I think I would be looking at another ISP instead ;-)

Yes - BT Openworld is no longer offered to new customers, they get a
slightly different package @ the same price.

Existing BTO customers will be/are offered an upgrade to BT Yahoo..
