Hello,
Having problems with the DUN connection for my BT Broadband. On most
occasions it will tell me that "Failed to connect remote computer. A
connection could not be established." Although after hours of trying, if i
leave it for a few minutes/hours/days it seems to connect first time with no
problems, although it all seems really random.
Have phoned BT to enquire about a line fault, or the possiblilty of network
maintainance degrading my connection, but they assure me everything is okay.
I have noticed that, upon booting my PC up it takes my (Voyager) DSL modem a
few minutes (longer than usual) to configure from training (yellow flashing
lights) to green (active). Even when green, a connection is not assured.
Upon attempting a connection with an active modem, if it does fail, the
modem reverts back to training state for an apparantly random amonut of
time.
This is a problem that's really annoying me, I paid for always-on Broadband,
not randomly accessibly DUN access. The problem persists but access can be
made with perseverance, however I don't think a service I pay £27 a month
for should be so uncontrollable.
Before anybody mentions un-installing the modem software/drivers and
re-installing, I've already tried that. I always try restarting the PC if i
cannot make a connection after a few attempts, this seems to make no
difference either. Nor does unplugging the equiptment and rebooting the
computer. I've even gone as far as a complete PC format and OS re-install :/
Anyway, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
