BT Voyager 240 ADSL Router VPN compatability

I have problem with BT Voyager 240 ADSL router which does not work with
my
ATTN VPN software. During authentication sequence there ends in error
related to timeout/firewall.

I have tried DMZ, disabling IP filtering/NAT and any other firewall you
can imagine
but I still cannot make the ATT VPN software work with this router.

Apart from VPN compatibility issue the router appears OK and the VPN
software is OK via telphone modem.
