I've been setting up a neighbour's new wireless network. His BT
Voyager 2000 WAP works just fine with the BT Voyager USB adaptor
on his desktop PC.
However his wife has a new Sony Vaio laptop (PCG Z1MP I think)
with inbuilt 802.11b, running Windows XP. This talks just fine
to the WAP if we don't enable WEP. However as soon as we enable
WEP on the WAP(either at 64 bit or 128 bit key length) the Vaio
refuses to talk to the BT Voyager 2000. The desktop with the
BT USB adaptor copes just fine with WEP of either key length.
We must have entered the WEP keys about 15 times on the Vaio, so
I'm 95% convinced that we're doing everything right. Just
wondering if there's some incompatibility that we're up against.
