BT Voyager 200 Router: Connecting via a USB cable.

I'm trying to help a client out with their home networking setup and
would be gratefull if someone could answer the following question: -

When connecting a PC to a BT Voyager 200 Router via a USB cable, does
this create a dial-up or LAN type network connection on the PC?

The 205 creates an "ethernet over USB" type connection, might call
itself a WAN miniport I can't remember. You treat it as a LAN.

The software should go one before the PC sees the cable plugged in.

Not seen a 200 personally but sounds similar from
http://www.voyager.bt.com/faqs/ethernet_index.htm
