After having telewest broadband for the last 4 years <3mb> and a seperate BT
phone line, I thought if I moved next door <bigger place> I would get ADSL
instantly, so phoned up BT and told them i'm moving home, and I want a BT
phone line installed at the new house, its only next door I told them <1.5km
from the local exchange>. so the move day came and no phone line, so I
phoned them up and they said that its going to take 3 weeks untill an
engineer can come sort out the problem, it seems that lines that havnt been
used in houses for a few years have the cables taken out at the exchange
end.

So I had a chat to my neighbour who is a BT enginner and he checked the
line, and its still connected to the exchange so he said he will get it
connected tommorow,

Why is BT so slow getting people connected, espicially new customers? I
thought they wanted to take telewest's buisness, especially as my area is
90% telewest, you would have thought they would work abit faster than 3
weeks lead time.

BTW telewest said they would have me connected in an hour lol, but i want
adsl for the fixed IP and 256k upload
