Hi All

I have BB at home, using a router and many PC's as I work from home.

I have helped my friend setup Virgin BB at his house.
My friend has borrowed a BT USB Voyager modem from a friend, but it will not
connect on his PC at his house.
He has a custom PC, 800mhz Athlon running XP.
The drivers install but the modem spends ages 'training', then says no
signal.
On one occasion it did connect, but so few packets got through it was worse
then dial-up.
I took my laptop over and used the same modem on the same line and it
connected fine.

Any ideas what might be the problem?
The PC has a VIA chipset. Anyone else had this problem?

Cheers

Darren

I had exactly the same problem with my BT Voyager modem. Turns out that my
phone wasn't entirely compatible with the microfilter. I swapped the phone
with another one and there was no problem. Try running your USb modem line
straight to your microfilter but leave the phone unplugged and see how you
go. Incedently, I run an Athlon900, VIA chipset PC and have no problems at
all since solving this one
