BT USB modem and another router?

Can i use the standard adsl modem that comes with the BT openworld 500
package with another router so that I can have a number of computers
accessing the net at the same time. Also with this type of set up will I be
able to run a VPN client on one computer and the others still able to
connect to the net.

Yes, you just need to buy a suitable router and it should work. But if
it's the little white Intel one, by all accounts it's crap. However......

.......if you buy a combined ADSL modem/router/firewall, like the
Draytek Vigor 2600, you can use it's built-in VPN facility.

the reason that I asked this question is because I have been having loads of
problems with a Zoom router/modem combination.

Has anyone had a good experience with the Draytek Vigor 2600, or even a bad
one.

The Vigor series is widely recognised as one of the best, has all the
features, but isn't cheap.
My 2600We hasn't missed a bit since May install.
