Thinking of changing from Virgin.net to BT Total Broadband.
Are BT any good?
Do they carry all the newsgroups?

Many thanks.

Newsgroups are their strongest point. It's outsourced through Giganews with
massive retention periods.

I'm with them and very unimpressed. However according to their website
the do not carry newsgroups. Have I missed something?

They're not alone in using Giganews, by the way!

Mind you, the path by which your message reached "news.eclipse.co.uk" (aka
europe.isp.Giganews.com) seemed a bit strange when looked at closely...

Path: border1.nntp.ams.giganews.com! border2.nntp.ams.giganews.com!
feeder2.cambrium.nl! feeder4.cambrium.nl! feed.tweaknews.nl!
nntp-server.pubsub.com! news.glorb.com! border1.nntp.dca.giganews.com!
nntp.giganews.com! local01.nntp.dca.giganews.com! nntp.bt.com! ...

(I was just a bit surprised to see the .NL servers in that path)

Set your account to news.btinternet.com and you should get full access.
There are also dedicated support groups accessible by BT customers only
which start with bt.broadband....
