BT repackaged consumer service to businesses exposed

Commenting on BT's speed increase, altoHiway exec Chris Wood said that far
from being a customer benefit, BT's offer was a "repackaging of mainly
consumer grade ADSL offerings, dressed up as a business service".

Considering consumers can get 2mbit for less than 2 quid a month
in third world countries, and with Bulldog relauching its complaint
for poor service, its better to send the BT execs
to third world with cap in hand to beg them to teach them something
about operating a telco business.

Additionally, it would be better it was broken up
and each bit like exchanges and local loop were operated
by separate operators after putting in competitive tenders
for each section of the telecommunications delivery
and infrastructure components.

How exactly is that supposed to help ?

If you sold different exchanges off to different companies that
wouldn't increase the competition in any meaningful way to the
customers. If you can't choose between two different suppliers then
there is in effect no competition (exactly what happened with the
British Rail sell off).

You mean you don't know?

Like with all sell offs, there are regulatory
performance targets to meet. If you can't meet it, you lose the
license and investment as government appointed administrators
take over and put it up for competitive tender again to different
parties.

Hey guys working for BT$ here, I'm doing this up...
Comments please...

Legalise astro turfing now!

The rights of astro turfers are in danger because

Astro turfing now is a big industry and part of

Well, other than making money for someone other than BT you don't seem
to have the first clue as to how this might or might not help !

Like what didn't happen with Railtrack and all the other TOC's that
failed in their contracts of service etc., it took two serious
failings of the infrastructure the collapse of the network to force a
change of name, but nothing else really changed. Will it take the
collapse of the 999 system before people see what a fuc**rse idea
breaking up an integrated network is ?

And no doubt you are really one of those 'want-a-be' TnOC
(Telecoms-network Operating Companies) who want to make their own $$$$
whilst asset-stripping the old BT network that was funded in the main
by HMG Tax payers...

I can't wait to see the uk-wide "t-roll out" of the "7" network!

Probably called "7" because it will only serve 7 of the UK's major
city centres with its short reach technology.

Oh, hang on, that sounds a bit like LLU...

Insightful and witty comeback.

As usual.

In previous posts you've said you're looking for a job. Seriously, I
urge you to submit your CV to us. We're really busy looking after
customers, taking on new ones, enjoying their company, and generally
enjoying the fact that they're recommending us to new customers. so
what we need right now is an uninformed troll to bring us back down to
earth. And you are the perfect candidate.

People with a normal IQ need not apply. Sorry.
