I personally think no chance as this will involve a lot more work than what
the cable companies will have. Cable companies a believe just send a new
file out the cable modem whereas adsl has to be physically changed in the
exchance.

Hopefully BT will be spurred to advance their own services:

1. Extend reach of 1M and 2M ADSL from 45dB (no upgrades required)

2. Implement ADSL2 - 20M near exchange down to 512K at 7km.

3. Trial VDSL (cable to street cabinet then existing copper) - 56M
near cabinet down to 12M at 1km.

I'd like to see VDSL moving, BT must see copper is doomed.

i was just hoping lol. i wish i lived in a cable area but im getting 1mb for
£28.95 so im not complaining! and pipex are amazing!

I vote for VDSL. My current line is too long for ADSL but I'm about a
minutes walk from the green box!!
