Hi,

I registered for BB with an ISP recently, and today found that we had no
dial tone with our phone for about half an hour. Could this be the line
checks in progress?

It could be, it may not be, could be due to any number of things happening
(including the actual exchange work being done to provide you with the DSL
service which you have ordered)...

When my line was activated, the missus heard the phone ring once, then
stopped... line sorted :-p
