I know this has been covered in the past and at that time I thought BT
had dropped the ISDN conversion charges but I have received a bill
which has two worrying elements.

There is a charge of £42.55 for a one off PSTN conversion and a charge
of £66.38 for the second line up to the 29th of February. We had ADSL
from the 21st of December. Obviously now we are ADSL this second
"isdn" line is not available.

Anyone else had the same and any hints on resolution with BT/ISP

Rgds

They haven't dropped the charge - but with a managed conversion it's
refunded if the line is unsuitable for ADSL.

The minimum contract period for HH is one year. When did you originally
have it installed - was it last February?

which ISP ? only the BT ISPs BTYahoo and BTBroadband were absorbing
the £50 (42.55 + VAT) conversion charge so that is probably legit
unless your ISP said they would pay it.

You confuse me by refering to a second line. Did you have a single
ISDN line that was converted to analogue ? If so and if it wasn't
sitill in its 1st 12 months like Bob suggests then call the number on
the BT bill asking them why you have been charged the ISDN rate for
the line and not the analogue rate. Also check there isn't a credit
further down the bill.

Cheers guys. I am actually with BT/Yahoo so expected no charge as they
did not indicate one. I have had ISDN for 4 years now so there should
be no penalty element. The second line is the number ( 1 of the 2
"isdn" numbers ) that we did not convert to ADSL. I had assumed that
this would be disconnected as part of the conversion. It seems like I
have a decent case based on this. There is no credit on the bill 8^(

Incorrect - its £50 inc VAT and has never been free

but I have received a bill

Which is £50 inc VAT

and a charge

BT cockup - they did the same to me. Unless 29th Feb is 12 months from your
start date with HH ?

Don¹t ring your isp, ring BT and explain. Their system "split the order" and
left the second line allocated to you, even though it isn't there. IMO its
because there is no specific disconnection order for the second line.

They sorted it out in a couple of days ..

Cheers Graham.

This does make sense. I will give them a call Monday. As I have had HH
for 4 years there should not be a problem.

although it has been rendered so by BT Broadband as a promotion, don't
know the mechanics of how they bill that though - presumably just a
credit as its all the same supplier. BT Yahoo may be more complex.
