Guys, my parents have just installed Tiscali broadband at thier home PC.

Previously, they'd used BTInternet via dial-up for web and mail.

I am trying to set up their machine so that the can continue to use their
old BT internet email address via Outlook Express, and I am failing.

I have the incoming mail sorted, however, apparantly, BT internet needs to
"authenticate" smtp?? Now, I have ticked the "My server requires
authentication" box, but when I send/receive, the password and user name
authentication window pops up, and will not send email. Inbcidentally, on
this window, the save password box is ticked, but greyed out.

Any ideas before I throw myself, and their PC from a high window?

Cheers

Chris

Just set-up IE to use the tiscali smtp server "smtp.tiscali.co.uk" as
the default server and send all your mail through that. The BT smtp
server will only work if your connecting through a BT dial up or BB account.
