BT has slashed the price of its new 'Infinity' FTTC service after poor
initial take-up in trial areas. The costing structure of 'From £30' has
been reduced to £10.99 (with a 18 month tie in) and free connection -
originally costing £70.
Paul Vaneene of BT Broadband marketing said "Take up in the first quarter
of 2010 was very disappointing and some of this we believe to be cost."
He added "We have spoken with OFCOM and are now in a position to offer
the service at a reduced price."
