I am trying to set up my friends laptop to connect via wireless and the BT
Home Hub. The new laptop is running Vista. It connect perfectly with
Ethernet but whenever I try to connect via Wireless I was getting the Page
cannot be displayed. It said it was connected to Unidentified connection (I
think it was). If I then type in the Network key it then works and says
Local/Internet connection. Trouble is if I closed down and go back the
whole scenario starts again. Its as if its not holding the Network key or
something, just can't get to grips with it. I have never used the Home Hub
or Vista so its all a puzzle to me.

Make sure you are using your own connection! It might be possible you are
seeing a neighbour's connection and entering the correct key will never be
recognised. Check what the SSID or "name" of the network is and try to
manually set up a wireless connection. If you were using XP I could tell
you what to do, but not with Vista as I haven't used it.

Like Rob, I have never tried Vista but:

1. I feel really stupid asking this. You did 'SAVE' the settings after
you input them?

2. Are you using the HH at factory settings? I have had problems after
laptop inactivity timeout and switching to standby with XP, HH and Netgear
511 wireless card combination but only if using WPA/PSK security. The
default factory setting of WEP worked fine.

Hi Phil
T's not a stupid question but the answer is I can't see anywhere to 'save'
them as such, that' why I was hoping that someone who is using Vista with
wireless could point me in the right direction.
