There are one or two of these on offer in my local Freecycle/Freegle at the
moment.

Anyone know whether this is a 'normal' wireless router which can be
configured for use with any ADSL ISP, or is it locked to BT in some way?

TIA.

I use a BT 2 Wire one here at home think these are for business use
originally. I Googled and got the procedure to make it work on my ISP.
Now I do think it is a complete different thing with that and no
modification can be done to the Home Hub, I suggest you Google to see.

Yes that is the sort of thing I got and did for the BT Business 2 Wire, but
Roger needs something like that for the Home Hub should it be possible to
get it off BT BB.

I have found the following sites useful for Home Hub hacking:

http://www.homehubhacks.co.uk/
http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/homehubindex.html

I've used bt home hubs v1 for wireless extenders, SIP telephone adapters
and ADSL2+ modems with bt firmware locked at v6.2.2.6 and I have
successfully installed firmware for the speedtouch 7g on the home hub to
login to other ISPs.

I've no experience with v1.5 or v2 hubs.
