BT Home Hub Configuration

I have recently had to change provider due to relocation so thought I
would give my first impressions. Was previously with a cable provider
since the beginning of BB and just moved into a non cable area. I am
not served by a LLU exchange so I went with BT Total BB option 3 with
the "free" wireless VOIP router. Pleasantly surprised with ADSL
performance.
Out of the box the supplied router uses 64bit WEP and broadcasts SSID
"BTHomeHubxxx" by default. It is good that it is not open access by
default, but not particularly secure.
Security is configurable, however. I have changed to WPA-PSK and
changed SSID string and disabled SSID broadcast and it works fine. Not
figured out if it can MAC filter yet!
I have not yet got a HubPhone so I can't comment on how this will work
but the box works fine as a wired ATA for another VOIP account.
OK, the "hub" is not as flexible as a 3rd party router with VOIP such
as a Draytek, but it should be adequate for most people. Overall, not
bad, but do customise security.
Another point is that the admin account is accessible over wifi by
default (and I have not figured out how to restrict this to wired) so
do change the admin password.
