BT Broadband + Voyager 2091 Modem Query

I was wondering whether anyone can tell me whether the ADSL modem supplied
with BT Broadband has a wired Ethernet port? The reason is I want to
connect an existing router to set up a wired/wireless network?

As I want to access my computer remotely (essential really for a PhD
student!), can anyone let me know if BT allow this - and whether any IP
ports are blocked?

I presume that IP addresses are reasonably static (provided that your router
refreshes it), as is the case on NTL's cable network?

Many thanks, David

The only info I have seen on this router is on eBay where, in reply to a
question, one seller says:

"This router has one ethernet port and one USB port. It also has an
in-built customisable firewall."

Cheers. The Ethernet port is great news - and the built in firewall is an
effective part of NAT for inbound connections you don't want. I'll see what
else I can find out regarding the rest. It's been tricky to find a manual
for the 2091.

The Voyager 2091 supplied to BT Broadband customers comes with a short
17 page booklet & installation CD. Surprisingly, there is not a more
detailed manual on the CD as you often get with hardware.
The booklet says that "This router only accepts BT-allocated 'broadband
usernames' so will only work with Broadband from BT services". I don't
know if BT are supplying any "unlocked" versions of the router, but if
you are buying one from eBay etc., and you are not a BT Broadband
customer, you might want to ask the seller some questions before bidding.
