I have a home office that is part of a business and was wondering what the
best BT Broadband package would be. I have 4 machines that would need to be
connected, I read somewhere that I would have to pay more for multi
connections. If anyone has any experience with business packages from BT I
would appreciate any help.

thanks
ritch

Hi Ritch,
Do you have to buy the Business Package???, I see this as a bit of a con.
You are allowed to connect more than one PC to a broadband connection, from
http://www.bt.com/homenetworking/index.jsp

" With a home network you can share your ADSL broadband connection with up
to 10 home computers - so everyone can get online without the family
squabbles."

This (IMO) says that you can connect 4 PC's as you have, on a home
connection.

But why do they need to know how many machines you are connecting? Hide
the other machines in a cupboard, get a single connection, and when the
engineer's gone replace that PC with a router and clone the MAC address
- they're unlikely to ever notice.

Sorry, you're way off the mark here. What you are talking about applies
to cable products *not* DSL. DSL uses PPP to auth, Cable uses your MAC
address.

Also, do you think the engineer could give a flying monkeys?

BT Broadband indeed. Pfff. Go with Zen or Andrews and Arnold. Both
supply as many IP address as you want and with very competitive prices.

Stay as far away from BTopenworld or BTBroadband as you can.

I stand corrected :-) But the principle of using a NAT router still
applies.

The bit about hiding was an attempt at humour :-\
