presumably their documentation (a URL to find what you're seeing would be
handy) just hasn't been updated since the addition of DSL Max and since a
number of users are perhaps still on 500/1000/2000 then the higher speeds
that might be obtained won't be true anyway. As for what the router will
show - that's the sync speed for the link from home to exchange. When I
had a Tiscali-supplied 1000 kbps connection, the downstream speed was
2272 kbps (but data rate was capped to give me 1 Mbps, not 2 Mbps).
