BT Broadband - increased line speeds

Someone told me today that he submitted an online request with BT Yahoo! to
get his 512Mb/s second service upgraded to 1Mb/s sooner rather than later.
He now has this even though he's running at 71dB. I got the 512 Mb/s
service on the same day at 67dB with BT Business Broadband. Is there a link
on the BT web site to request the upgrade sooner as he said there was ? I
don't see any such link.

Also, isn't 71dB above the acceptable limit so how could he get the servivce
upgraded ?

Thanks

luck ? the line checker at www.bt.com/broadband says what it thinks
you can have, there are ways round it but maybe his line was flagged
as OK for 1M.

Why would you have your broadband speed reduced to IMb/s from 512Mb/s?

BT Business Broadband customers can't request a speed increase until
the 28th April.
