Another BTBB query...

Anybody who knows the FTP server address and settings (so i can use my
personal webspace) care to let me know?

A search of the BTBB site revealed no obvious answer, and I don't want to
have to wade through BTBB's useless customer support.

TIA
Grant

Pete, the BTBroadband offering is a 'no-frills' service, that does not
come with email, usenet access or webspace. This holds true, unless you
additionally purchase access to the above.

Whilst the evident flaw in my statement might be that you _do_ have
usenet access (you used it to post that query), webspace is a bit more
restricted.

Your definatly on BTBroadband right? And no BTYahoo Broadband ?

Definitely BTBB, not 'Basic', or 'Yahoo,' I pay £27.99 per month. I have
access to this newsgroup, as you said, and was under the impression it was
either 20mb or 50mb of personal webspace.

Andy is correct there is no webspace provided with a BT Broadband account,
I would guess you have confused BTBB and BTYahoo.

Ah well, I stand corrected then. I must have an email address though,
because when setting up BTBB it asks you to choose an address
"@btbroadband.com" and this is what i use to "dial-up" as well.

That's not an email address. It's just for logging on to BTBB....

Which, incidently, is redundant for Central-Plus networked ISPs (like
BTBroadband and now, BTYahoo).

Line identification and <something>@bt.... is all that is needed. You
can make up the password and username alias (the bit before the @bto...
to your hearts content).

FWIW, as you'll see from threads here a few weeks ago, I too
misunderstood the scope of BT Broadband's service. I mistakenly
assumed that if the £19.99 service was the entry level, then my £27
version would give me the essentials, namely email and news. (I didn't
consider web space, as I also have a Pipex account covering that.)

As we've both since discovered, not so! With hindsight, it was only
impatience to get my order placed (after hesitating for a year) that
made me miss the 'no frills' small print.

BTW, why £27.99? Maybe you *do* have a (small) frill after all <g>.
