Does anyone know if the BT Broadband package is 'XBox Live!' compatible with
not too much fuss, as in is the modem that comes with the BT package
suitable for use with XBox live?

I'm presently 56k only with Freeserve Anytime, but I've heard that their BB
modem is USB only and can be tricky to set up for 'Live!'. Also, if there
are any BT BB customers presently using 'Live!' in this group, could you
tell me if I'll have to get an 'Ethernet' card installed on my PC?

Many thanks for any forthcoming reply.

Hi,

For X-Box connections you really want a router, and a Ethernet modem.
(Ideal Set-up). There are a number of options, like D-Link who provide
combined router/hub/modem boxes.

You can order UK Broadband from www.optimumi.com.
All of their services are compatible with XBOX and PS2, and they are
offering free connection and free modems. (Modems are Ethernet.)
For a small additional fee, they can supply a router as well so you
can use your x-box hassle free.

Have a look at www.optimumi.com

Cheers.

You need a broadband router which will have a USB and an Ethernet connection
( some models have 1, others 4)

Your X-Box will connect to the router via the Ethernet connection.

Go to this site & check out the forums if you are just getting going with
broadband for your X-Box
