Hi,

Excuse my ignorance but I am currently with bt openworld and am intending
switching to bt broadband.
Will I keep my current e-mail address and be able to access it through
outlook as I do now?

Cheers

Stan

BT broadband is the basic ADSL connection with no e-mail,newsgroups and
webspace etc
BT Openworld broadband service is the full service and you could keep
your e-mail address

are you sure its the basic "no frills" service you've ordered

you can . but you will have to take out the premium mail only account from
btopenworld- £1.50 a month - to keep your email address.

A more full answer will be that you can receive mail but not send with BBTB
as you don¹t get an outgoing mail server to use.

And unless you use the BTOW dial up service after three months, they'll kill
your original account

By BT Broadband do you mean BT Connect or BT Yahoo
Yes but you will have keep the old account running by dialing it using PAYG
and a normal modem every 60 days or so.

I can't think why anybody would want to go BT for broadband these days --
for various reason to do with not being able to risk any disruption to my
broadband connection I can't change from BT Openworld as was it is
ow -- BT Yahoo (ugh !!!) until early next year. Consider going with
another better & much cheaper supplier with decent mail, news and DNS
servers

BT Yahoo is the new name for BT Openworld.

As long as you specified you were upgrading your existing BTO Anytime
account to BT Yahoo ADSL (@£29.99/month) while ordering you will keep all
your email addresses and settings etc.

Regards
Sunil

As said by Sunil if you specified you were upgrading to broadband you
shouldn't have any problems, if you did not you can still continue to use
your account with your new package even if you have subscribed to the basic
broadband package (£27.00 per month) you can continue to use Outlook for
your BT Openworld e mail address and newsgroups, you will need to use your
BT Openworld diap up at least once every 3 months (it should only cost a few
pence) they will send you a reminder 14 days before it expires.
