im currently on the normal bt broadband service and have recently come
across this £19.99 a month 'basic' service?? Im thinking about it but
several rumours have been doing the rounds, are these true or not?
(any of these being true would make bt basic pointless for me)

You cannot nat extra computers on with bt basic

Bt basic is under half speed of normal broadband

You cannot use homepna over bt basic

Bt charges an extra eighty quid to setup bt basic even if you already
have a bt broadband modem

You cannot use games/IRC/MSN over internet with bt basic

You cannot use filesharing progs over internet with bt basic

I'd imagine they will enforce it at the lower price. That's the whole idea.
Why not find a broadband provider which doesn't have limits for only a few
quid a month extra. My 1mb costs only £27.50 a month (twice as fast as £20 a
month BT and no download limit) and I'm happy with the service.

Coming soon...

If you exceed your bandwidth limit on BT Broadband Basic, your connection
will be limited to 64K.

You will of course, be buy "additional blocks"of bandwidth... its all part
of BT's "flexible bandwidth" initiative they announced recently

Sunil
