I`ve had BT broadband for a few months now, and it seems when people call me
on the landline they are harder to hear than before BB. They can apparently
hear me fine.
Interestingly I find the same applies for a friend of mine with the same
setup.

We`re talking 1 phone and 1 pc - it couldnt be simpler.

I`ve read about buying a better microfilter and am looking at the Fujitsu
FDX100-UK microfilter from dabs.com.

Has anyone had any success with changing their microfilter????

Heres the site that gave me the idea;
http://www.ftel.co.uk/uk/products/co...rofilters.html

I believe that this is normal. You can ask BT to increase the gain on your
line to counteract it - they also do this on normal lines for the
hard-of-hearing.

They will check the line first, to see if they can, but yes, its as simple
as phoning 150 and asking them in customer services!, as for expensive
microfilters, not sure personally, am also on BTBB and I bought two cheap
ones from maplins and have had no trouble with them at all

Any filter you use should comply with SIN346
(http://www.sinet.bt.com/346v2p4.pdf). The FDX100 does. It's worth
asking other vendors if their filters do.

I should declare that I work for FTEL, although not on this product.

Hi alec,

they basically said "no" straight off and said it`ll be a filter or socket
problem. they said they get a lot of people thinking the gain will help but
it`ll make no difference.

Off to swop the filters and see if anything happens.

actually, thinking more about it, i said "can you increase my gain" and they
said "no, you have broadband"...which makes me think the potential gain is
at max, due to broadband
