Has anyone ever came accross this extremly mad problem ?

BT Voyager usure of the model. Its the BT basic pack not the Yahoo one.

Run the installer right...goes through then says that the system has not met
the requirements. It says the machine is running a 1mhz processor if i
restart try again it generates random mhz like 3mhz and never does pick up
the 400 mhz processor inside the machine. The machine DOES meet the
requirements as the Bt was installed when it was running Xp. The machine is
now running Win 2k Pro SP4- registered copy.

Is there an updated BT disc etc needed ?

I've never runderstood that. I used to run a 386 connected to a network and
it was fine. Why do we suddenly need minimum specs for BT ADSL? It can't be
to handle the traffic since 386's (and below) ran on 10meg token rings.
I recommend that you get rid of the crappy modem and get yourself a decent
one that uses the NIC instead of USB. That way, you don't need any drivers
and will never run into stupid problems.... well, probably not.

Dump the USB, get a ADSLrouter/modem with ethernet.

For what we are about to balls up may common sense prevent us doing it
