Hello,

I have a Windows small business server 2003 with routing and ras
installed. This is a domain controller with dns and wins running with no
errors on either. Clients (XP Pro SP2) can connect using VPN from internet
and use network shares. I have "use default gateway" unchecked and also set
to use Netbios over tcp/ip on VPN. The server can ping the clients by name
and by IP Address
but not browse them using \\name or \\ip address, error "the network path
was not found". Hve done the kb 292822 changes and all service packs are
installed. any help is appreciated.

Have you checked if the clients either do not have File and Print sharing
enabled or may have a firewall enabled?

Todd,

Thank you for the reply. Yest File and Print Sharing is turned enabled.
There is a firewall enabled with exceptions for File and Print Sharing.
Also, I have a test laptop here the can VPN to one domain and all works as it
should. But when I try the 2nd Domain I have the issue.

Thanks

Domains are a management entity, not a networking entity, and they are not
subnets, so are you talking about Domains or about subnets? You said you
had "use default gateway unchecked" , but in some cases that must be checked
to work.

2 differents sites with different SBS 2003 Servers with different Domain Names.

checking or unchecking default gateway causes no change as far as this issue.

It's the windowsXP firewall! Check your GroupPolicies, SBS has a group
policie for the XP sp2 firewall and you have to allow exceptions from both
subnets on that GPO to able to browse computers on both subnets.
