What Thinkpad model do you have?. This is a common problem with laptops
works in various enviroments. In a Building LAN like you Company, they use
VPN to connect to the Wireless Nework to avoid hackers and virus attack, and
also use a Static IP, DNS and WINS. When you try to connect at home in the
most of cases the connection is Dinamically (IP, DNS). To alternate a
connection do you have to get a Software that create Profiles that save the
Config at Work and Home separately. In the T42, the software that comes with
the Centrino Bundle you can create Profiles to avoid this incovenients.
I hope that this information can help you to resolve the problem. I
recommend use the original software incluide in the PCMCIA Card or PCI Card,
and MiniPCI incluide in the most recent Laptops. Do not use a third party
software.
