Hi,

I would appreciate some advice on the following scenario:

We have a network and domain that works fine.

However we have a single server which is running the office video security
cameras. This cant be changed due to how it functions.

This server is on a different subnet to the rest of the network. It is not
on the domain and is in its own workgroup.

Whenever we want to access this server we have to do it in the server room,
we cant create a remote connection. VNC does work but this is not ideal.

Is there a way to allow us to connect using remote desktops?

Thanks for any help,

Nick C

You could just add a IP to the NIC of the pc your using to browse to
that network, so if you domain IP is 10.10.10.10 then the remote subnet
is 192.168.1.2 then just add a ip static to the pc with 192.168.1.3. so
you will have 2 IP's. I take you got a router in between though right???

To continue this thought, if there is a router you will need a route to the
other subnet, but that is probably already in place since you say that VNC
works. Another possibility is that you have a firewall or some Access
Control List that is blocking port 3389 which is used by Remote Desktop.
