Hi,

Im recieving the following error message in my dhcp log. (in
c:\windows\system32\dhcp) on my windows 2003 server.

64,03/29/05,11:35:29,No static IP address bound to DHCP server,,,,

The weird thing is, if i change the IP of my server it seems to work. It
seems to me the rogue server detection belives the NIC in my machine has a
DHCP address or something.

I've tried the following in this order:

1. Removing and readding the dhcp service.
2. Setting the binding order by opening the dhcp mmc selecting the
servername then selecting properties -> Advanced -> Bindings.
My NIC is displayed (but not selected) in the binding list but if i tick
it.. it unticks itself after i leave the console.

For some reason it refuses to authorise the nic in my machine.

3. Stop Service. Deleteing the dhcp database from C:\windows\system32\dhcp.
Restart Service.
4. Stop Service Uninstall the dhcp service then deleting the
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DhcpServer Keys, along with deleting
the dhcp database in C:\windows\system32\dhcp. Reinstall the service.
5. Removing my dhcp server from AD using Active Directory Sites And Services

Open Active Directory Sites And Services (Show Services Mode) -> Services ->
NetServices -> Removing the DHCPClass for my server.

-------------------------------------

The only reference i can find on microsoft is:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...0Msgs/4987.asp

It seems to me its probably something more to do with my NIC configuration
in the registry

Anyone have any ideas where any other dhcpserver settings are.

I've called microsoft regarding the issue but id have to pay for the call as
an incident..

Actually,

I've got the same issue and am hitting the same walls... Anyone found
a solution to this besides a reload?

Could you please try KB article @
http://support.microsoft.com/default...BLN%5D;Q306925 ? It
describes the steps required to re-authorize a DHCP Server using ADSIEdit.

In Active Directory, Authorized DHCP Server entries lie under
"CN=NetServices,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,<AD_R OOT_SUFFIX>".

Do you get any error / warning while authorizing the nic? Can you describe
that a bit?

Thanks,
