Broadcom Wireless Problem - HELP

I have a linksys BEFW11S4 V2, with the latest firmware. I have an IBM
Thinkpad, using a Linksys WPC11, that communicates with the BEFW11S4
flawlessly.

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion 5470, with an internal Broadcom
wireless card, running XP Home.

After setting up the Broadcom card, I am having some problems. I have
upgraded the drivers for the Broadcom.

The signal strength shows strong to excellent on the HP, but when I
ping the BEFW11S4, only 2 or 3 of the 4 ping attempts succeed. This
becomes unworkable when I try to access the internet. It takes minutes
to load a single page.

Any idea on what might be causing this problem?

Do the RTS and Fragmentation Thresholds on the BEFW11S4 need to match
the values on the Broadcom?

Thanks for the help.

Joel

Some devices show more signal than they really have. Try moving something
to see if it helps.

Any problem with security programs? You might try disabling any firewall.

Anything on the Linksys site about that card?

Are you DHCPing the Broadcom card? Have you checked all the settings? Have
you tried a wired connection?

Can you see the laptop from the desktop or vice versa?
