Broadcast/Connect problems

Hi everyone, I use a Netgear WGR614 54Mbps Wireless Router and up to
this point I have had no problems connecting all my machines to it, both
wired and wireless. Lately, I have been cracking down and increasing
security on the router and setting it up much more. Unfortunately, ever
since I turned off the SSID Broadcast, my Linux-running laptop does not
seem to want to connect. What can I do to fix this?

I use ndiwrapper along with wpa_supplicant to connect through my router
and the wpa_supplicant.conf file is written with the SSID field included.
