Thanks. I'm interested in a wireless modem/router they have on their
website. Just waiting to hear if my phone line will be OK for broadband.

yeah they do the wireless Westell 2410
firewall included as in the 2400
and ip-passthrough for ISP static or dynamic address
to a pc to be visible on NET and others to be behind the
router with NAT. 1 Pc visible (Protection required)
4 on LAN. Great

Consider Draytek Vigor 2600We, same price as the Westell but more features.
Mine was on in 10mins and hasn't missed a beat since May.
Regards,
Martin

yes you impliment ip-passthrough for the pc to be visible on the WAN
and other pc's on DHCP you will need protection firewall and virus
protection
at all times for the pc on WAN. The static IP Address from you ISP is then
allocated it as before when behind the router, but acting now as Server for
Whatever ie Games Server or FTP Server without port forwarding.
Most routers do it by port forwarding; except the Westell 2100; 2400 and
2410 which is the wireless version, the broadbandstore will tell you this
also
and help setting it up if you have any difficulty.

I've got the 2410 connected to one PC at the moment, but I'll be buying
a laptop when I get round to it.
Thanks for the info anyway.
