If I live in a caravan with no phone in an area where i can't get a
phone can I get broadband? Using a mobile or a datacard or something?
Can I share a nearby house's broadband via wi-fi?

I think you can use a mobile, but it would be expensive. Not sure if the details
others may advise.

Yes, this would be straightforward, as long as:

a) the broadband user agrees
b) the house is in wifi range

Although with b) you could possibly use a wireless access point to extend the range.
Again others who have tried this might shed more light on the subject.

Also, depending on the circumstances it may be possible to run a CAT5e/6 cable from
your computer to the house via a switch to give you BB.

BT have a universal service obligation, so I'm not sure what "an area
where I can't get a phone" is, unless its an illegal encampment.

GPRS might run to 43k so isn't broadband. A 3G datacard from Orange or
Vodafone perhaps. £80/month at a guess for an unnlimited or high
volume tariff - try uk.telecom.mobile

Satellite is also an option - a 2-way service -
http://www.aramiska.co.uk/ for instance.

Tiscali - dialup speeds at Broadband prices, see
http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist...&Board=tiscali

AOL - the unlimited ISP of choice for heavy downloaders.

Vodafone recently cut their "umlimited" 3G/GPRS tariff to £45.00 per month.
