broadband update corrupted

Hi, when i finished downloading the microsoft broadboad
update and opened it like it said to do. it would not load
into the system because it said it was corrupted and to
try again. i did try again and the same thing keeps
happening.

can someone please help and explain this problem. i am
having. i am tryin to update for my older dell pc and
running windows 98se.

Make sure you're not using a "download accelerator" while downloading, and
then after the download, make sure - especially you're running anything
Norton, Symantec or ZoneAlarm - that you totally shut them down before
installing.

I had a firewall which was causing the problem. after i
shut that down it worked just fine.
